Planned Giving

Planned giving is a form of gift giving in a way to support non-profits that allow individuals to make larger gifts than they could make from ordinary income. Whether your gift is in the form of cash, securities, real estate, life insurance, bequests, or trusts, staff members from the Foundation are available to speak with you about gift options, provide sample gift agreements and communicate with your financial and legal advisors.

A bequest in a will or trust is the most frequent form of a planned gift and is tax-deductible for estate purposes. The drafting of a will or trust needs to be arranged with an attorney.

The following is an example of an outright bequest: “I give, bequeath and devise the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital Foundation, a charitable entity located in Muncie, Indiana, the sum of $X (or other personal property appropriately described) with the request that the same be used as it shall deem advisable to best promote the Foundation’s objectives.”

The Foundation practices responsible stewardship of each gift it receives. Not only will your gift be used as you designate, but it will also be recognized in accordance with your wishes.
